| Striking. All striking exercises can be practiced by striking into nets behind goalposts. Without sliothars Players line up across width of net. Practice striking imaginary sliothar on both left and right sides up into net (both standing up and on run) With sliothars Strike sliothar up into net using both sides, full length or short grip, Above drill can also be used for all players to practice frees |

| Hooking Players line up as per diagram with P2 approx. 1 hurl lengths behind 1. Players begin to walk across pitch. P1 swings at imaginary sliothar on every 3rd step. P2 reaches in and hooks P1. progress to same at jogging pace and finally full pace. 2. Repeat with P2 now swinging and P1 hooking |
